Catalyst	He was a stillborn, and his parents resented him for being born. He was abandoned by both of his parents at 12, finding out later that it was on purpose. Was raised by the Catholic Adoption Agency, where he developed his deep love for culinary arts.
Big Event	Never wanted sex from his neighbor; he just wanted to know how far and willing she was to go for her own child, even if it compromised her own moral judgment.
Crisis	Madeline's (neighbor) husband had an accident and needed emergency attention. She asked Alex to watch him, even though Alex was pretty inebriated. Alex didn't want to, but, knew that if he stopped his current activities, he could sober up before Madeline came back to pick her son up. Later, he uses this as a way to manipulate her, threatening her with Social Services and how she left her child with a drunk man, a total stranger, him.
Showdown	During the few weeks it takes for Madeline to give in to Alex, she finally does. Though they never have sex, Alex reveals to Madeline that he never wanted sex from her, that that was just a MacGuffin. He wanted to know how much she loved her own child, and why she was willing to go as far as she did for him. He confronted her about her husband who has been having an affair the entire time.
Realization	After the showdown, a few days went by and he stopped obsessing over her, realizing that he had fallen in love with her, over everything, especially her selflessness.
Denouement	Pursues Madeline, who is about to move out, and has left her husband. He desperately announces his love for her, and apolgizes for everything, giving his hand to hers, if she wants it.
